Fair question. AI is clever, but it still gets things wrong in very human-obvious ways. The companies building it need real people to tell it where it went wrong, and that feedback is how the models get better. Better models are worth billions to them, so they pay handsomely for good human feedback.
It invents facts, gives unsafe or unhelpful answers, draws six-fingered hands and sounds like a robot. Computers can't reliably catch all of that on their own.
People compare answers, pick the better one and explain why. That human feedback is a standard part of how chatbots are trained to be more accurate, safer and more useful.
Careful reading, clear writing and knowing your subject: exactly what you practise at uni. Postgrads' specialist knowledge is especially useful.
Question: "When did the Berlin Wall fall?"
AI answer: "The Berlin Wall fell in 1991."
Your feedback: ❌ "Wrong date. It fell on 9 November 1989; 1991 is when the Soviet Union dissolved. The answer is confident but inaccurate."
